Ranadheera Kanteerava Park
Ranadheera Kanteerava Park is a unique heritage park designed to educate children and youth about the six great royal dynasties of Karnataka through statues, inscriptions, and immersive public spaces.
Ranadheera Kanteerava Park has been conceptualized and developed with a distinctive vision—to teach the rich history of Karnataka to the next generation in an engaging, visual, and experiential manner. The park narrates the complete legacy of the six major royal dynasties that ruled Karnataka and shaped its culture, governance, and literary heritage.
The park features majestic statues of legendary rulers from each dynasty, including Mayura Varma of the Kadamba Dynasty, Immadi Pulikeshi of the Chalukya Dynasty, Amoghavarsha Nripatunga of the Rashtrakuta Dynasty, Vishnuvardhana of the Hoysala Dynasty, Sri Krishna Devaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire, and Ranadheera Kanteerava Narasimharaja of the Mysore Dynasty. Each of these rulers is represented through 7-foot-high statues, offering visitors a powerful visual connection to Karnataka’s royal past.
Adding to the historical depth, the park also houses a 12-foot-tall bronze statue of a Wodeyar ruler and a 7-foot statue of Gandugali Kumar Rama of Kammatadurga, the legendary Kannada hero remembered for his courage, sacrifice, and commitment to justice. Beneath each statue, detailed inscriptions describe the reign of the respective dynasty, along with information about the great poets and scholars who flourished during those periods—making history accessible and educational for visitors of all ages.
Beyond its historical narrative, Ranadheera Kanteerava Park has been developed as a world-class public recreation space. The park features a 19-color pink flower garden, Western-style landscaped gardens, serene water ponds, and attractive colored water fountains. For physical well-being, high-quality exercise equipment has been installed for youth, adults, and women, while children can enjoy uniquely
designed play equipment in multiple creative forms.
Distinctive design elements such as fruit-shaped seating, state-of-the-art footpaths, and a grand welcome arch built in the emblematic architectural style of the Hoysala dynasty make the park visually striking and culturally immersive. Unlike any other park in the state, Ranadheera Kanteerava Park seamlessly blends history, education, recreation, and aesthetics, standing as a living classroom and a source of pride for Karnataka.
